Welcome To the NFL!

The NFL Draft is a big celebrated moment for many football players working since their youth for that singular moment of validation.  In 2014, I was fortunate enough to be part of the process in welcoming them to the NFL.

The NFL Player's Association goes all out in welcoming the 1st round draft picks to the NFL. The NFLPA Rookie Premiere welcome video invites the players to LA to begin the process of creating the photos, trading cards and videos that the fans of football enjoy and use to learn about their new favorite players.

This was an exciting project to be part of.  If I ever meet any of the drafted players, I'll have to ask them about how the NFLPA Rookie Premiere weekend was!

Adzanga Web Explainer

I recently did an explanatory video for Adzanga, a new web-based advertising company in the Middle East.  I also got the opportunity to do some video editing and production on this project as well.  I was able to get instant gratification in seeing and hearing my voice over with the video to deliver the final product.  Take a listen and let me know what you think!

Script and Music

Most of the time when auditioning for a commercial, you don't get the opportunity to hear the actual music that will be apart of the commercial.  At best, sometimes you'll get a description of the scene or the feeling of the music behind it.

Recently, I auditioned for a Windows phone commercial which included the music to support the commercial. This was a great experience for me because you immediately understand the mood and feel of the commercial by the chosen music.  You also get to figure out how to let the music emphasize certain words or phrases in the script.

Check out my audition below and let me know what you think!

Voicejockeys

My voice coach, Nancy Wolfson of Braintracks Audio,  sends auditions and links to other websites that look for voice talent.  Since I'm building my career and portfolio, I know I've got to put my name in as many venues as possible.  You never know who's looking.  One site I've had some success with is VoiceJockeys.  People who need a voiceover for several types of projects (commercials, narrations, eLearning modules) peruse this site and the demos of talent to see if they fit their project.  Based on hearing my demo, I've been able to be apart of several types of projects.  Goes to show what a proper demo can do to market you! (Thanks, Nancy)  Below is a link to one of the series of commercials I did for a church's anniversary celebration.

I'm at the beginning trying different marketing efforts to build up my clientele and all around knowledge of knowing what's effective.  I am definitely ready to see what other work will come my way...

My First Job!

Thank you for taking a moment to read my blog about my venture into the world of voiceover.  I'm going to use this to help you (and me...) up to date on what I'm doing with my VO career.

I've been working for a long time to get to this moment and I'm excited to say I got my first job!  I was contacted by a representative of the production company, Yamanair LLC on Voice123 back in February to audition for a radio ad spot.    I submitted my audition and a few days later, they came back with me as the selection!  The radio ad was for Kristal Auto Mall in Brooklyn, NY.  A copy of the ad is below.

If you've heard the ad on radio, let me know!
